Established in 1955, it is located in Perambur in Chennai and is the largest rail coach manufacturer in the world. It is owned and operated by the Indian Railways and is the oldest amongst the five rake production units of the Indian Railways.

Qualification :-
For Ex-ITI :
- 10th + ITI Pass in Relevant Trades
For Non-ITI:
- 10th Pass
Total Vacancies :- 1010 Posts
Age Limit (as on 11 August 2025) :-
- For Non: 15 to 24 Years
- For Non-ITI: 15 to 24 Years
Age Relaxation:
- For OBC Candidates: 3 Years
- For SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years
- For PH Candidates:
- UR: 10 Years
- OBC: 13 Years
- SC/ST: 15 Years
